Theuns Kilians uses depth and suspension to make organite jewelry that appears mechanical and heavy. The metal objects are suspended in a way that is balanced and three dimensional.
Baltimore resident Wendy Mcallister is a jewelry maker who creates pieces with interesting surface treatment and suspension methods that result in the feeling of movement and energy. Her pieces appear heavy, loud and the materials interact with one another but are unified as one organic object.
Peter Machata uses chasing and repousse and raised areas to create interesting relationships between shapes and dimension. His pieces are organic and have a good amount of repetition in them, creating a three dimensional view that tells a story and has a nature oriented concept to it. His jewelry acts as a viewfinder to an abstract, balanced universe.
Native Daughter is a line of jewelry that embraces the feeling acceptance and interest in the culture and traditions of others, while bearing ones own heritage proudly and embracing the unique self. The suspension method interacts with the crystal and metal and creates an organic flow and makes the scale in relationship to the body very balanced and strong.
Wolftea is a designer from Portland Oregon who uses the suspension method of enhancing their design with balance, surface treatment and organic placement. The scale is perfectly balanced by small organic objects like bones and crystals in metal pendants that give a very organic natural interaction.

Colorscale would be copper with dark etched mountain range design inside or outside of captured object, rocks found in Arizona on both sides are dark red and white, still deciding on what to put on right side where metal circle is. Overall this piece is a shrine and dedication to the desert and the experiences I had while living out there for a month and a half.
Design Element: movement and harmony
Captured Object: small piece of gold and turquoise inside new mexico sun- representing the recurring colors that connected with me while I stayed there.
This idea came to mind because this is the state symbol for new mexico and is a vivid image in my memory that resonates with the location and the experiences.
Is this idea for you? Generally yes, it is a piece of jewelry that reminds me of the beauty I once experienced but also has the purpose of making the audience look into the piece to see the natural beauty of nature through jewelry. This necklace will tell a sacred story and show a simple appreciation for the desert and it's creations.
